Message-ID: <10383@decwrl.DEC.COM> Date: Sat, 13-Jun-87 09:02:59 EDT Article-I.D.: decwrl.10383 Posted: Sat Jun 13 09:02:59 1987 Date-Received: Sat, 13-Jun-87 23:44:12 EDT Sender: daemon@decwrl.DEC.COM Organization: Digital Equipment Corporation Lines: 53 I could really use some help from someone who has gone down this road: My MAC ][ is about to arive, but without the color monitor (delayed 1-2 months). I wouldn't want to consider the implications of having this sit here and not even be able to turn it on, and luckily was able to borrow a NEC Multisync color monitor, model JC-1401P3A. From the monitor's manual and an article in MacTutor, it appears that the cable should be: MAC ][ DB-15 NEC DB-9 --------------------------- 1 Ground 6,7,8,9 2 Red 1 5 Grn/Sync 2 9 Blue 3 HOWEVER: The Mac ][ video card runs at a vertical rate of 66.7 Hz, and the NEC's manual indicates that its top vertical rate is 62 Hz!!! WILL THIS WORK? If they're using the typical 10% rule, it would seem to fall within that range, but I don't know... Has anyone had any experience with trying to use this monitor with the Mac ][? Is a modification required to the monitor? (If so, can you supply details?) Is my cable pinout correct? Any solid information will be greatly appreciated, ASAP! Thanks!
