Lines: 35 Keywords: Desk Top Pub, Mac My company is thinking of buying a Desktop Publishing System. Our Office Environment is exclusively IBM PC or clones. As the sole Mac advocate in this company, **** I NEED SOME HELP !!! ***** Specifically, I need some pretty hard technical evidence that the Mac is superior to the IBM PC in the Desktop Publishing area. The proposed systems are: 2 Mac Pluses (w/2Meg Ram ea, 40 Meg Hard disk ea) 1 Apple Laserwriter + vs 2 IBM ATs (1.2Meg Ram ea, 40 Meg Hard disk ea) 1 HP Laserjet II Our comparison will be with Pagemaker, since it exists on both. Scanners and Big Screens are an issue, but a secondary one. One axiom I cannot change: We must be able to support file transfer from our other PC's to the Mac. If you have gone through a similar analysis (or know someone who has) Please contact me via email !! This is probably the last chance I will have to get Macs into my corporate environment. I will post a summary if there are sufficient responses. Thanks ! brucec (Bruce W. Cheney, TriQuint Semiconductor, A Tektronix Subsidiary Beaverton,OR, USA)
