I am looking for a lower-cost alternative to the Imagewriter II for my
Mac.  I don't care about speed, noise, or color, but it must be 100%
compatible.  So far, all I've turned up is the Panasonic 1080-AP, which
I can get from a dealer for $379 before taxes or discounts.

My questions:

  1)  Is the 1080-AP *really* Imagewriter compatible?
  2)  Is $379 a good deal?
  3)  What other printers are out there that meet these specs?
