For personal and also intramural political reasons, I would like
to have reliable answers to the following questions:

1.  How manyUNIX or UNIX derived computer systems are currently
    installed worldwide?  Percent?

2.  How many people now use UNIX as their main OS? Percent?

3.  What was the dollar value of UNIX-based machines sold in 1986?
    Percent

4.  What is a reliable forecast for 1987?

5.  Worldwide trends?

6.  Are there reliable figures by vendors, e.g. Sun, NCR, Altos, DEC, ...
