On many TACs there is a provision to access DDN News by entering @n for the command. You still have to provide auth., etc., but you get connected up to SRI-NIC which has all the information that you want. Once you're connected, it presents a menu, from which you choose your options. Under on branch in that tree, you'll find a selection for listing gateways (names) and specific info on each one. There are about 133 ARPA gateways.
