I'm happy with rogue-n, and of course you can use the Sun fonts
(/usr/lib/fonts/fixedfonts/gallant.r.19 is fairly large.)

I'm still looking for something that will let me have two adjacent 80col wide
windows, but 9 pixels wide is about as large as you get since 
1600 pixels/160 cols=10.

A font that presents a realistic illusion of being easy to read would
probably be OK.
