Department: Civil Engineering
Position:  Departmental Computer Engineer (Hardware)
Salary Range:  27.5-32.5-37.2 (under review)

Summary: Under general supervision of Associate Chairman ensures smooth
operation and connection of all Departmental computing facilities.  Duties
include system administration of the UNIX-based departmental research
computers and MS-DOS-based microcomputer teaching laboratory; oversees
the installation and maintenance of computer networks and the addition
of terminals and nodes to these networks; makes recommendations on
the purchase and maintenance of computing hardware and software.

Min. qualifications: Bachelor of App.Science/Engineering or Eng.Technology
                     in Electrical Engineering
Experience: Related experience preferred
Other: Basic electronics skills; electrical wiring, making cables and 
       connectors.  An intimiate working familiarity with UNIX-based
       systems and MS-DOS-based systems and networking.
