While the nation debates the relative merit of broiling vs. frying, and
Coke vs. Pepsi, I would like to open a new topic for debate:
transcription studies. As mentioned in a previous posting, I am
preparing to do some promoter mapping. Some investigators think S1
nuclease mapping to be the way to go. Others are firmly committed to
primer extension analysis. I would appreciate some comments on the
advantages and disadvantages of each technique.
