Lines: 9 In UK all the ATMs insist you withdraw the card BEFORE you take the money. This gets over most problems, though I have to confess I once walked away and left the money in the machine! Boy did I get back quick, and was grateful to be in a nice civilized town! From a protocol point of view I rather like the machines that make cash withdrawal the last operation and don't ask you "Any more transactions?" after you've asked for cash, but spit out your card and, when you've taken it, give you the money. Cuts down the waiting line a bit.
