While troubleshooting a problem with a PC regularly loosing its Ethernet connection, I identified several 117 VAC outlets on the circuit with neutral-ground shorts. The PC and the network interface card check out ok independently. Could the ground fault be the culprit? Could a flakey device being turned off upstream on the circuit cause the ground fault to exibit its symptoms in the abortion of the network connection?
