These units basically offer all the protection (surge, brownouts, spikes, etc) that I needed for my unix box. They don't offer battery backup protection, but for $240 I didn't expect them to. I will let everyone know how well they do after we get some good lightning hits around here this summer...course if it doesn't work, I probably won't be able to let you know :-) .
