Hi Dan,

In order to get sendmail to speak smtp with a Dec-20
you have tell sendmail to use <cr><lf>.  (use the E flag)

From sendmail.cf

Mtcp,	P=[IPC], F=mDFMueXLC, S=14, R=24, A=IPC $h, E=\r\n
Mtcpld,	P=[IPC], F=mDFMueXLC, S=17, R=27, A=IPC $h, E=\r\n
