  thank you all for the prompt replies, I am trying to reply
personally but some of the mail gets bounced back. I had
emacs up within an hour of posting the help request.
I increased PURESIZE by 30%, got fresh copies of the .elc
files, die a "make clean" and a 'make' it worked. I am not
sure what the problem was. After the make clean I had to
redo the config.h and path.h (using vi) and the first time
through I might have screwed up there. But it works and thanks.
Novice that I am I will probably be posting to this Bulletin Board
again soon.
