I am currently contemplating a project to put Sun's RPC and XDR
stuff into Smalltalk, based on the public postings Sun made to
"mod.sources" a couple of years ago, consisting of C code for
everything down to the socket level, and on the published protocol
specs.

This is a significant amount of gruntwork.

If anyone's done this already, I wish they'd tell me about it
before I get too far along.
