Dyer Computer Consulting, Cambridge MA Lines: 14 Keywords: 554 Who are you? One of my downstream UUCP neighbors just upgraded their MicroVAX to Ultrix 2.0 from Ultrix 1.2. In so doing, they kept their previous sendmail.cf file from Ultrix 1.2. However, now all incoming mail via UUCP is delivered to the recipient, but not before sendmail returns the letter back to the sender with a "554 Who are you?" SMTP transcript and logs the same error via syslogd. I can't find this message in the latest Berkeley sendmail sources, so presumably this is a Digital addition. Can someone pinpoint the source of the error and what to change to keep this from happening? Needless to say, bouncing these messages to incoming mailing list traffic will not win them any friends... -- Steve Dyer dyer@harvard.harvard.edu dyer@spdcc.COM aka {ihnp4,harvard,linus,ima,bbn,m2c}!spdcc!dyer
