There are many 800 numbers that cannot be reached from Canada, leaving us in the same situation - My (possibly faulty) understanding is that AT&T offers coverage of different areas at different rates for 800 service - theoretically a company could elect to extend its 800 service area to Europe, Japan, or even Canada... *>sigh<* -- just a random gripe 8-)...
