   The benchmarked results of Jan Stubbs' iocall on a Vax 8800 running MACH.
    	0.4u 11.0s 0:12 91% 0+0k 2+9io 0pf+0w
    	0.3u 10.3s 0:11 91% 0+0k 2+9io 0pf+0w 
	(two successive runs - to get some idea of the variation)


  Some added notes on Mach.  Mach supports multiply threads, shared memory
(at the page level) and a fast ipc.  I do believe it is planned or does
support the memory mapping of files - but don't quote me on that.
