SVR2.0 or later. SVR3 not required for 4BSD in the forseeable future, due to unacceptable impact of the new SVID compliance clause. That's really too bad, because SVR3 has lots of good stuff in it that would be useful in 4BSD. One used to be able to upgrade an AT&T UNIX source license by paying just the $$ difference between the initial licensing fees. Usually that sufficed to upgrade all licensed systems at a single site. There was also a special one-time deal to upgrade SVR1 to SVR2 for $1K total. I'm pretty sure the latter deal expired long ago, and I'm not on top of the current license upgrade options (call (800)828-UNIX for that).
