This installation is looking at going to /NOCRC with our TU78 tape drive. There is currently an article in The DEC Professional (July 1987, pp 115-116) that recommends /NOCRC and I have read something in The Pageswapper (DECUS VAX SIG Newsletter) where someone from DEC was heard to say NEVER use /NOCRC. What is happening out there with BACKUPs to optimize the procedure and minimize management time.
