Xref: mnetor comp.periphs:498 comp.sys.ibm.pc:6353 comp.unix.xenix:557 SCO XENIX 2.2.1 has support for the Tecmar QIC60AT with the "long controller board", which is a Wangtek PC36 card. If you have a Tecmar tape drive with the "short card" which just provides a controller interface, you're out of luck. Tecmar considers the controller info proprietary and won't release it. After several months of calling, I was pointed to the firm which developed the DOS software for their tape drive. They told me that they had a XENIX driver coming out in a few weeks (this was a month or so ago), but I never pursued it due to my upgrade to XENIX 386, which isn't compatible with 286 drivers anyway. I bought a Wangtek tape drive which is also supported by SCO, and I've lived happily ever after. I wish I had done that a long time ago. The firm is known as "Colorado Memory Systems" in Loveland, CO. I don't have their phone no. handy, but they're in directory assistance.
