Summary: 

If you are not interested in broadcast quality, and are interested
in conserving $$, look into building an NTSC encoder, using Motorola's
MC1377, as is done in the Amiga. Mot' has an app' note (the number
escapes me). Only the one chip, and a handfull of passive components
are required. It works..................................sjk
