In particular: Who makes them How much do they cost? How well do they work? What parameters should I make my selection on? Initially I will be using the modem for remote terminal access and some file transfer. Later, I may want to run TCP/IP over the link. Some particular questions I have are: Can I get by with a fast switching half duplex modem? Would one of the 9600/300 asymetrical full duplex modems work OK for TCP when most of the traffic was in one direction? What kind of driver support would I need to make the TCP stuff work? Thank you. -- Jim -- (Grapevine) mayer.wbst (Arpa) mayer.wbst@Xerox.com (NS) mayer:wbst128:xerox (Phone) (716) 422-9407 (UUCP) {seismo|allegra}!rochester!rocksanne!mayer
