Summary: Got a new one myself, based on 5.20. Slightly faster.

I've recently modified the ARC that was posted some time ago and
patched in the changes from ARC 5.20. On the average this allows
creating archives in 80% of the time the code based on ARC 5.12
would take. I've tested this successfully on a Vax 750 running
BSD 4.3, a Sun3/50 running SunOS 3.2, and an Apollo DN3000 with
SR9.5 DOMAIN/IX. If anyone's interested, I can post the sources...
