As mentioned in my previous posting, I'm planning on putting Kickstart into ROM on my A1000. I would like to be able to set it up so that I can select either 1.2 in ROM, or the WCS so that I can boot 1.1 when I need to. I don't need 1.1 often enough to put into ROM too (those 27512's are still rather expensive!) My question is: has anyone done this yet? Any brilliant ideas on how to proceed? I'd like to find a more elegant solution than hanging a switch out the back of the Amiga case. I'd like to have some keypress combination signal the machine to boot to the Kickstart prompt (maybe CTRL-ALT-ALT-SHIFT-SHIFT, or something equally hard to hit :-) Reclaiming the 256K of WCS for system ram is of no interest to me if that makes anything easier. I've got the Developer's Conference notes, and they help, but are more of a cookbook than a theory approach. -- Blaine Gardner @ Evans & Sutherland 540 Arapeen Drive, SLC, Utah 84108 UUCP Address: {ihnp4,ucbvax,decvax,allegra}!decwrl!esunix!blgardne Alternates: {ihnp4,seismo}!utah-cs!utah-gr!uplherc!esunix!blgardne seismo!usnb tcakf the sys on
