It would be downwards compatable with the ST series It would be developed in England by Perihelios PLC, and the OS will be called Helios, and will be written by Tim King. Other than this, I am really not sure. Atari has been blowing smoke about their 32 bit machines for a long time, but this is their first annoucement. It does seem unusual that Atari would have a small English company develop the computer, and downright stupid to annouce it 1 year in advance! I am also very skeptical about this. Should this indeed be a lot more than smoke this time, it would be reassuring to hear from C= just how much a threat it would be with the price mentioned at being less than 2000 pounds sterling, though not confirmed. I have been told that there may be an inmos transputer attatchment for the A2000 in the CPU slot, though I cannot be sure until I see one. As for C='s new ad campaign, well, it appears that they have some neat TV commericials, but just aren't ready to begin their pre-christmas ad blitz.
