(If there is something like the noted patch, at least one person must know what's going on and should be able to explain it !) Blocks 0 and 1 are for the bootstrap loader, the volume directory begins at block 2; so why does a loss of sector 00 affect the disk contents ? (It's expected to fail to boot, but nothing else !) And what's an intended bug in contrast to the inadvertently trashing discussed here ?
