I wouln't take Kermit's file size too seriously.  I'm never sure
whether Kermit is telling you the number of bytes it *sent* not just
the file size.  Those other bytes may include header info and or
quoted characters;  But binary is anybody's guess!  It all depends
where the end of file mark is placed.  I'll bet the files ok...
