Take a look at /usr/lib/uucp/L-devices (this is, I believe, just like it
comes from DEC):

	#ACU ttyd2 ttyd2 1200 hayes
	#ACU ttyd3 ttyd3 1200 ventel

Note ttyd2.  We're using a hayes Smartmodem with no problems.  I don't
know how to convince uucpsetup to do this, however.  I did my uucp set up
by hand.
