The 730 physically is about 15" high in a standard DEC (deep) cabinet. It fits in nicely with an R80 (150Mb) and Rl02 drives, giving a full cabinet. VMS and (I believe) BSD run on it, as with most conventional Vaxen. I find it useful as a stand-alone single user machine. For the money, it is slow, very power hungry and noisy. Given the choice between the 730 and a small workstation (Sun 3/50, Vaxstation X), I'd take the workstation every single time.
