The 730 is an old and EXTREMELY S-L-O-W VAX -- it runs either VMS or Ultrix. It can barely support one user. On compute-bound benchmarks my DEC Rainbow (8088-based) outruns it. We have one at work -- it's sitting in the closet gathering dust. A 730 is about the size of a large dishwasher, consumes quite a lot of power, and has noisy fans. You'd be much better off buying an AT clone. You could buy one every other month with the maintenance charges on a 730. -- Larry Campbell The Boston Software Works, Inc.
