While I was watching my new AT being assembled, the technician switched out
the power supply that came with the case, mumbled "piece of junk" as he
tossed it aside, and put in an Aztec power supply, which he said was far
superior in terms of reliability.

This brings up several questions:

1)  What are the good power supplies and what are the bad, in terms of brand
names?

2)  Is Aztec really any better than average, or...?

3)  This power supply is REALLY noisy, both in terms of contant background
noise and with respect to noise changes due to demands placed on it (that is,
when the disk head moves the supply's noise changes pitch).  What are the names
of some [high quality, per question #1] manufacturers of QUIET power supplies?
