We have a Allied Linotype 300 that when a board had to be replaced we couldn't download fonts. We have to get Adobe to re-register the font info. I guess it looks at serial numbers stored in ROM. I suppose it would be pretty easy to find that particular ROM in the LaserWriter and burn copies so you could use any one of several LaserWriters in a group. Anyway, you can print most things using bitmap screen fonts from the mac.
