A help function is definitely needed! Then again, so is the "read text only" And one for PICT files, too. I suggest that a text file labeled HELP! (or something) be available to the user and on the distribution diskette, much like the Read Me files are today. As for incorporating that into the finder, see below. TeachText is a grand idea, Apple, but it could use some polishing. Perhaps putting it in with the finder (under "File" as "View" with "%V" (Command-V))? And add a little extra code to display PICT files, too. Like TeachText, allow no editing to keep the code simple and small. And a side note: Someone earlier suggested putting the Help feature into the Control Panel. YUCK! (if you'll excuse my frankness). First off, "Help" belongs somewhere visible or at least somewhere logical. Secondly, the control panel takes around 10 seconds to come up. By that time, A user could have already gotten out the manual. --chris Mr. "Be cool, but care"
