The problem of a missing cross compiler didn't sit right with me, so
I checked with my friends in the Motorola Semiconductor Sector and got
the following information:

Three new kits containing a wide selection of cross-language support
along with various utility tools are now available for SYS1131UY341
systems.  There are 8-bit, 16/32-bit, and combined 8/16/32-bit kits
available.  These kits contain software which are pieces of that
provided in the SYS1131DVLP Development system product, i.e., there
is no HDS-300 or debug support included.

2. M68000/008/010/020/851/881 Family Assembler/Linker
3. M68000/008/010 Cross C Compiler
4. System V/68 to Versados Utility Toolkit
5. Limited C Runtime Library Source

7. M6800/01/04/05/HC05/HC11 8-Bit Family Assembler/Linker
8. M68HC11 Cross C Compiler
