We were using the Computione Advantage X, 3mb ram, with a normal load of 6-8 users. I never really experienced a slow down problem that you mention, but I have a guess at what you might try. Since you are using a Computone board, you can just about turn off all the flow control {ie stty flags} that are set in the /etc/gettydefs file. Right now, IO has two processors doing the same job on the same data. Not only is that a waste of the power of the 80286, but it will actually cause communication problems with uucp and micnet. My advice for you is to tailor the gettydef entry for your computone. The only *must have* stty value for the entry is the port rate. BTW, are you using the Computones at the max 38.4 Kb/s ? A note for other Computone users: To make micnet and uucp work on a Computone port, there must be no flow control applied in the /atx/attype file. An alternate fix is to get a replacement driver form you VAR or direct from Computone. -- John Michael Mullins CENTEL Business Information Systems, Inc. 5515 Security Lane, Rockville, Maryland, 20852, (301) 984-3636 UUCP: michael@macom1.UUCP or decuac!macom1!michael
