Our news partition overflowed, causing some articles to be lost. Therefore I sent out sendme's to one of our neighbors to request that the lost articles be resent, or so I thought. I didn't expect the default distribution for ihave/sendme control messages to be world, so I didn't think to specify a distribution. In fact everything I believed about the semantics and syntax of ihave/sendme messages has turned out to be wrong. Here's a suggestion: in the next news release let the default distribution on all control messages (except cancel), be 'local'. I'm aware that bungling like mine isn't the norm, but this sort of thing HAS happened before and now I know how. Again, sorry for all the bogus messages and any inconvenience caused down the line. -- kyle jones "Geez, it seemed like such a simple thing..."
