Surely the fact that first world countries, in particular the U.S. and the
E.E.C., with their socialised farming policies encouraging their farmers to
use pesticides and,in particular, fertiliser way beyond the point of diminishing
return, and thus raising the world market prices of fertiliser and pesticides
has SOMETHING to do with the depressed agriculture in the Third world.
