Someday there may be a system from FSF.  While waiting for its arrival
you might try MINIX, which runs on the 8088/286/386 line, and has been
ported to the NS 32000 machines.  The port to the 68000 (Atari) is now
in beta testing.  See comp.os.minix to find out what is going on in the
MINIX world.
