Last time I checked with RMS, the line was "I certainly don't want any
hairy security features" in applications. There was also some
indication that the [gu]id manipulation code would be different than
stock 4.3. Knowing RMS's stand on such things, I would be greatly
surprised if "different" amounted "+(security features)."

Ask RMS. I suspect he would disagree. I will agree that there are many
environments where you need security. On the other thand, there are
many outside of the small set you describe that don't really need
security.

<What security features don't you want? Separate userids and passwords?
<file protection modes? disk quotas? checking the name of a system
<uucping in? .......

Did I say I didn't want security features? Doesn't look like it. Now I
did say there were some things in the set {v7 syscalls} - {Minix
syscalls} that I didn't want. For instance, Tannenbaum was applauded
at his talk in the south bay (SF bay) when he mentioned that he didn't
provide ptrace().
