Now, if one or two of you could just go off and build something, we would be very interested in buying somethin. I think we could easily get you a few dozen customers. Would be nice if it interfaces with Crays, transfers in excess of 1 GB/sec, etc. etc...... Oh yeah, should not cost more than a Cray itself and hold, say, 1 Terabyte of data (100 GWords? yeah, okay for now 8-). I'm I forgetting anything? Well, here at Convex, we have, guess what! Disk Striping! (Hey!) Current 'stripe' limit is 2Gig, but you can have lots of them. (sign extention prevents a bigger size.) And, guess what, it costs less than a Cray. This should not be confused with an advertisment. Rather that someone has done it.
