As always the "context" in which a statement is made is important. In 1982 Ron was probably dealing with the first release of Oracle for the VAX (or worse yet one of the early UNIX releases). The entire package had just been converted from PDP-11 assembler to C by some people who had never programmed in C before. Needless to say this resulted in more than a few problems. At that time the company was probably only about 30-40 people and finding one who could do customer support was hard. I would say at the current time there are between 50 and 100 people in the support organization alone. -- Robert Bradbury Oracle Corporation (206) 364-1442 hplabs!oracle!bradbury
