Thanks to diligent Net-readers for pointing out my error. Also of interest to those who have been following the issue of protection of user objects, I heard that the "FRONT END" system catalogs will be properly protected in the next major release of ingres (Thats version 6.0, likely to be out some time next calendar year) Doug Manatt LLNL
