Sydney, Australia. Lines: 16 Hello all. An amateur friend of mine is trying to get a modem going. From what I could hear over the air, it sounded like he had a "signalman 7" modem, which would not indicate CARRIER, even though the connection had been made. Packet people: that's phone connection, not packet! This is made all the worse by there being no documentation for the beast. I gather that this thing is one of the many AT (Reg ?) clones around the place. Is there some software switch to set, somewhere?
