Hello all. An amateur friend of mine is trying to get a modem going.
From what I could hear over the air, it sounded like he had a "signalman 7"
modem, which would not indicate CARRIER, even though the connection had
been made.  Packet people: that's phone connection, not packet!

This is made all the worse by there being no documentation for the beast.

I gather that this thing is one of the many AT (Reg ?) clones around the
place.  Is there some software switch to set, somewhere?  Would someone
just happen to have the instructions on-line?
