I will be connecting to a computer in the U.S. via TYMNET (or
commercial, if necessary) while visiting
Japan in October.  Any advice on modem use from there will be
appreciated.  Will I be limited to an acoustic modem?  Could anyone
recommend an acoustic 1200 baud modem? Do major hotels have private
phones for making a connection?

Any other advice on communications from Japan would be appreciated as
well.
