The main problem is going from the format of the scan (parallell slices) to something that looks good on a computer screen (surface w. hidden surface el- imination). Does anybody out there now of a good algorithm or journal articles describing an algorithm to reconstruct a surface (or rather connected polygons) from data in the format of slices. If so, could someone out there in net.land give me a hand. My math background is unfortunately quite lacking (I'll be a junior next school-year), so please keep it simple, or explain in excruciating de- tail. Any help will be greatly appreciated. Unless your response will result in great enlightenment of the masses, please respong by EMail. Thanks. -- Ulrich -- net address: wiedmann@aurora.arc.nasa.gov UUCP: {ihnp4,ucbvax,nike,lll-crg}!ames!aurora!wiedmann Disclaimer: They don't know and they don't care, ok? So just leave them alone.
