I am seeking information about fonts which can be freely redistributed. That is, the fonts must be nonproprietary, or available with a nonexclusive license which permits their unlimited further distribution without further charge or restriction except for acknowledgement of the source. Obviously, this eliminates any raster patterns copied from a proprietary font licensed by the printer or by the site. Fonts of interest are 10 pitch and 12 pitch raster fonts, at 240 dpi, 300 dpi or higher resolutions. Typefaces needed are ASCII regular, italic and boldface (especially ultrabold or block bold), Greek, Greek italic, Greek boldface (or ultrabold), old German gothic, modern Russian Cyrillic, mathematical and scientific symbols, accents, and two-thirds-size and half-size characters for subscripts and superscripts (particularly ASCII and Greek). I would like to hear from anyone who has or knows of sources for fonts meeting the above conditions. (I am already seeking information from the ANSI Committee on Computer Fonts.)
