The main instructions (not the number list of actions) had the warning that you should read ALL further instructions/actions first. Then it had the usual list of wierd things to do. And the *AFTER* the last numbered actions (all of which were indented) it had a further instruction of the 'just do item #x, and turn it in....'. this solved all of the problems of which number item superseded which.... -ed
