Message-ID: <18988IKS@PSUVM> Date: Wed, 26-Aug-87 01:22:40 EDT Article-I.D.: PSUVM.18988IKS Posted: Wed Aug 26 01:22:40 1987 Date-Received: Fri, 28-Aug-87 00:57:31 EDT Organization: The Pennsylvania State University - Computation Center For some time now, you may have seen some discussion on MNP levels and the u Lines: nd the u Keywords: rades from MNP 3 to MNP 4. There has also been word that MNP 5 is around the corner. It is. Xref: mnetor comp.sys.ibm.pc:7136 comp.misc:1108 . I called Multitech to see what the story was on the MNP 5 upgrade. Well... here it is: MNP 5 is scheduled for release by mid September. It is NOT a free upgrade. For users upgrading from MNP 3, it is a simple PROM replacement which will cost $25. For users with older modems (MNP 2.??) it will require a factory visit for some hardware changes/firmware upgrade and $50. . Why go to MNP 5... I have another message here addressing that aspect. . NOTE: I have no connection with Multitech other than being a happy user. These views are not mine !! ------- Keep Smiling (-:-) --Indra K.
