To AST:
I did not mean to step on anyone's toes when I asked for the 1.2 compiler and
assembler, but I am confused with all the postings mentioning 1.2 asld and such.

This is a question.
What is being shipped with the 1.2 distribution as far as the compiler and 
assembler. Is the 1.1 compiler linker asld and cc the same as the 1.2 dist.
