Sydney, Australia. Lines: 20 We have here an (aging) VAX-11/750 and we are moving it to a new location that doesn't have particularly clean power. We have a number of options, as we see it, to make sure it keeps going; 1) Install a power-line conditioner, 2) Install an Uninterruptable Power-Supply (UPS), or 3) Install Battery Backup (within CPU). If you have had experience with battery backup on a VAX-11/750, I would dearly like to hear from you. We need to know the advantages and disadvantages of such a beastie. Please mail all replies rather than replying on the net, if possible. If you are interested in the replies, send me a note and I will (eventually) post a summary to you or the net.
